We began manufacturing our own product in 1980 due to the fact that the windows and doors available at that time did not take our harsher climate needs into consideration. It was important to us to develop a product that met those requirements and that had a design that would still be relevant for years to come.
Manufacturing our own product also allows us to monitor all aspects of production and helps us ensure quality control throughout the entire process. From our fusion welded vinyl frames to our state of the art insulated glass department, through our assembly and testing area and on to the truck, our ultimate goal is a worry free experience for the consumer.
Our product speaks for itself and unlike some manufacturers, Polar Bear has not had to change product lines or profiles over the years to keep up with the ever changing demands in performance requirements. Quality has been our primary concern since day one. We started out with an idea, "made in the north, for the north" and set out to accomplish just that.
There is something to be said for a window, created 20 years ago, that meets or exceeds today's Energy Star standards in all 4 Canadian climate zones. We truly are industry leaders!
We are very proud of our product and will diligently research the newest trends, building practices and efficiency requirements as we continue to move forward. And, we will remain committed to maintaining our role as "one of the good guys" in the fenestration industry.
